This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your information when you visit our website, register for an event, give a donation or pledge, or otherwise interact with our church community.

Information we collect

  • Event registration details, such as which days of a conference you plan to attend and any accessibility or special requirements you share with us
  • Prayer requests, testimonies and other information you choose to share with our pastoral team
  • Donation and pledge amounts, and payment confirmation details from our payment processor
  • Basic website usage information, such as pages visited
  • To register you for events and prepare to host you well, including catering for accessibility needs

  • To communicate about church services, events and ministry opportunities
  • To respond to prayer requests and provide pastoral support
  • To comply with legal and financial record keeping obligations

Payment processing

All card, EFT and other online payments are processed securely by PayFast (Pty) Ltd, a registered payment gateway. GMC does not store your card details. Please see PayFast's own privacy policy at payfast.io/legal for how they handle payment information.

Information sharing

We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information. We only share information with PayFast for payment processing, with our pastoral team where necessary for care, or where required by law.

Your rights

Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you have the right to access, correct or request deletion of the personal information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

Children's privacy

Where we collect information relating to a minor, such as for children's ministry, we require parental or guardian consent and keep that information strictly confidential.

Data retention

We keep donation and pledge records for as long as required for financial and tax record keeping purposes. Event registration details are kept for a reasonable period after the event for planning and follow up purposes, after which they are archived or securely deleted.

Cookies

Our website may use basic cookies to remember your preferences and understand general site usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of South Africa, including POPIA.

Donation and Pledge Terms and Conditions

The terms that apply when you give, pledge or register for a paid event.

Voluntary giving

All donations and pledges made to Grace Mission Church Int'l are voluntary. A pledge is a statement of intent to give a certain amount and is not a legally binding financial obligation, though we encourage and appreciate every pledge being honored as an act of faith and partnership.

Currency and payment

All amounts are in South African Rand (ZAR) unless stated otherwise. Payments are processed through PayFast. By completing a payment, you confirm that you are authorized to use the payment method provided.

Processing fee coverage

Where offered, the option to add a percentage toward payment processing fees is entirely optional. Choosing not to cover this fee does not reduce or affect your donation, pledge or registration in any way.

Event registration fees

Where an event has a registration fee, this will be clearly stated before payment. Some GMC events are free to register for, while others may carry a fee to help cover hosting costs. Where a fee applies, it is separate from any pledge or additional donation made toward the same event.

Tax certificates

If you require a donation certificate for tax purposes, please contact us using the details below and we will advise on availability.

Accuracy of information

You are responsible for ensuring the information you provide during registration, giving or pledging is accurate, including your contact details and payment information.

Refund Policy

How refund requests for donations, pledges and event registrations are handled.

General principle

Donations and pledges given to Grace Mission Church Int'l are generally non-refundable, as they are given voluntarily in support of the church's ministry and operations.

Errors and duplicate payments

If you believe a payment was made in error, such as a duplicate transaction, an incorrect amount, or an unauthorized charge, please contact us within 14 days of the transaction. We will review each request and, where an error is confirmed, work with PayFast to process a refund.

Processing fees on refunds

Where a refund is approved, any payment processing fee already charged by PayFast on the original transaction may not be recoverable. In such cases, the refunded amount may be the donation or fee received less any non-recoverable processing costs, at the church's discretion.

Event registration fees

Where a paid event registration is cancelled by the church, registrants will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer their registration to a future date, where applicable. Refund requests initiated by a registrant who is no longer able to attend will be considered on a case by case basis.

How to request a refund

Contact us using the details below with your name, the date of the transaction and the reason for your request. We aim to respond within 7 working days.
